An individual shall be licensed as a representative of the investment adviser thus enabling him/her to conduct securities activities. The FSC shall only grant a license once it is fully satisfied that the applicant has the requisite qualifications. These qualifications include:
- Demonstrating compliance with the Technical Competencies and other requirements as laid down in the Competency Standards issued by the Commission;
- The applicant should also hold a Degree from a reputable university, in a relevant field; and
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in investment business.
The applicant while lodging the documents requested for by the FSC should also note to pay the processing fee of Rs 2,500. The Investment Adviser shall also be required to pay an annual fee of Rs 10,000.
