One of the Mauritius’ key objectives is to align its policies and practices with international best practices of standard setters. Through its membership with international organisations, Mauritius adheres to norms and standards in order to preserve the good economic repute of Mauritius.

Mauritius’ focus in defining international policy is inter alia to:

  • Ensure adherence to international norms and best practices;
  • Promote cooperation with both local and foreign regulators for effective supervision and exchange of information;
  • Provides guarantees and confidence to investors;
  • Reinforce capacity building through cooperation and mutual assistance; and
  • Combat money laundering, terrorism financing and tax fraud.
